A Mirror House Built in Denmark

Design and architecture studio MLRP designed and presented the citizens and visitors of Copenhagen a "Mirror House", decorated with polished stainless steel mirrors from all sides.

Instead of the classical façade the house is decorated with mirror frontispieces, which create the transition between the building and the surrounding landscape. It reflects the nearby children’s playground and a park.

The main feature of the mirrors is «distortion», which is very much appreciated by children playing on the playground. From inside the door is also mirror, the windows are closed with mirror blinds. When the house closes for a night, it looks like an ordinary building. In the morning the shutters and doors are opened and additional mirrors become a part of the landscape.
