130 km from Copenhagen there is one of the most picturesque places in Denmark – the island of Møn. It features one of the brightest natural sights of Denmark – snow-white cliffs Møn Klint, stretching for several kilometres along the island coast. The compulsory part of the tour is Møn Klint geo centre, where you will learn an exciting story of Møn cliffs formation in Denmark on the whole. This extraordinary centre will be interesting for adults and children.

Going down to the beach, you will have a walk under the cliffs.

Antoine de la Calmette, who was the mayor of Mon in 1790, called the palace and park after his wife Lisa. On the territory of the park there is a true Swiss chalet, a Norwegian cottage and a China tea house. The park idyll is inspired by the beautiful lakes and huge trees around.

Not far from Copenhagen in the town of Humlebæk there is the most famous European museum of contemporary art "Louisiana". The museum is located in a vast old park on the cost of the Sound strait.

Louisiana is a successful attempt to create a new museum type, where equal attention is paid to the in-house collection, exhibitions and active communication with public. Traditional forms of fine art (graphics, painting and sculpture, as well as installation, object, video art etc.) are here close to the cinema, architecture, applied art, music and literature under the same roof, thus expanding the audience as much as possible.

Video about the Museum:

Photos of the Louisiana museum:

Today the museum has a great collection of arts of the 1960s, 1970s and the 1980s, where realist artists, e.g. Arman, Jean Tinguely and Cesar are displayed next to pop artists - Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg.

Louisiana museum

In addition, Louisiana exhibits an impressive collection of sculpture. Its centre is 13 works by Alberto Giacometti. A part of the sculptures is located in the park so that it corresponds to a definite section and is visible from the museum, whereas the other especially large exhibits that need a lot of space are in the park, referring more to the trees, grass and water – these are works by Jean Arp, Alexander Calder, Max Ernst, Joan Miro and Moore.

Louisiana museum

The decisive role in forming the image of the museum was played by the surrounding landscape – idyllic lawns, an old park, a small lake and the view on the Sound strait. Louisiana museum is built so that you can go around it making a loop, going down and up the stairs, crossing light corridors. However, there are several exits from each building, and they are located on different levels. So if you are tired, if you have had an attack of the "museum fatigue", you can always go out on the lawn, facing the sea, drink a cup of coffee on the terrace of the museum café, have lunch in the restaurant or walk in the park.

Tour length: 4 - 5 hours

Tour price: 320 euros for 2 adults and a child (under 11). The price includes the transfer to Louisiana, entrance tickets and guide’s services. Food and drinks are paid extra.

Specifics of the tour: an unusual international museum, which will be interesting for people who love architecture, design, fine and pop art.

In the village of Vikings local enthusiasts give their tribute to history creating replicas of Viking ships. Doing so, they not only meticulously reproduce the parts of the vessel kit and materials, but also the ship building process that involves medieval tools. The results are so successful that five newly-built vessels are used for tourist voyages of various distances.

From 14 May to 30 September it is possible to cross the fjord of Roskilde by Viking ship. All the participants of the voyage will be involved in the process: setting the mast, rowing and probably steering. The ship leaves every day at different time. So it is required to find out the time of leaving in the ticket office at the entrance to the museum of Viking ships. The journey time is 50 minutes, including distribution of life jackets, learning about the ship and an intensive rowing course. Children under 4 are not allowed on board. Each child must be accompanied by at least one adult.

That will be the start of our excursion around this marvelous town. Having walked along the fjord, we will visit the Viking ship building museum, located nearby. Here everybody can put on Viking clothing, try a heavy sword, sign in the visitors’ book, write their names in the ancient runic letters, look closer at the process of making a sail for a Viking ship, watch a 14-minute video about the life of the Vikings of the time and visit a ship building workshop, where the Viking ships are restored.

In addition, in summer from 25 June to 31 August you can also (at extra cost):
- make your personal Viking coin as a souvenir
- paint a wooden shield according to the individual design
- make a chain of glass beads
- make an amulet with Thor’s hammer
- make a rope out of willow branches
- carve their names on wood in runic characters.

Video about a boat trip:

In 1020 Roskilde became the bishop’s residence, which made this town stand out of the other settlements at once and till the early 15th century it was the capital of the Danish state, but not Copenhagen. It was the place of the monarch residence and the most important decisions were made here too. Therefore, learning more about the epoch of the Vikings we will go to the city museum, where we will be able to see genuine artefacts of the Danish past, trace the history of fashion, furniture, toys and household items of Roskilde citizens.

Unfortunately, ancient original houses have not been preserved in the old capital of Denmark – the town of Roskilde. All of them were demolished either by fire or subject to reconstruction. However, there is a breath-taking place in the town – it is St. Lucius Cathedral, where 39 members of the royal family were buried. In 1170 bishop Absalon – not only a clergy man, a politician and a warrior, but also the founder of Copenhagen started building a new stone cathedral, which was to become the most important cathedral in Denmark. Construction lasted nearly 100 years and was completed in 1280. It required about three million bricks. Today Saint Lucius’s cathedral is a bright specimen of the brick Gothics, in 1995 included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.

A walk along the tombs is like a journey along the history of Denmark. The cathedral is divided into 6 large tombs where monarchs of different epochs were buried. Those who found their eternal rest here include:
- Margret I, who managed to unite all Scandinavian states under the Danish umbrella;
- Christian III – the founder of the Danish Protestantism;
- Frederik II, who built Frederiksborg castle;
- Christian IV, who was marked in the history as the "king – builder";
- Frederik V, who the Danes nicknamed the "Kindest", despite his highly loose morale;
- Christian VII, whose name is associated with one of the largest scandals in the history of Denmark.
- Frederik VII, who gave the "green light" to the Constitution of Denmark
- Christian IX, who was called the "European father-in-law", for he managed to arrange family ties with a number of royal families in Europe and many other members of the royal family.

Tour length: 4,5 - 5 hours

Tour price:
1 - 3  people 360 euro*
4 - 7 people 360 euro* plus minibus rental (200 euro)
8 - 15 people upon request.

The price includes the transfer to the museum and guide’s services. The entrance tickets to the Viking shipbuilding museum and the cathedral as well as the food and drinks are not included into the price.

*If during the excursion you have an opportunity and willingness to take a trip on a Viking boat across the fjord, you should take into account the extra time of the guide’s work (50 euro per hour) and the price of boat tickets (95 DKK or 13 euro per person)

In the city of Billund, 263 km from Copenhagen, in the central part of Jylland peninsula, there is a wonderful park for children and adults – Legoland. Everything in this park is made of Lego blocks – models of world-famous buildings, fairy heroes and even animals and birds are built out of more than 40 million blocks. The Park was opened in June 1968 on the area of 38 000 sq.m. and since then its area has increased to 120 000 sq. m.

Polarland in Legoland

In May 2012 Legoland opened a new theme park section – Polar land, presenting full-size penguins and polar bears made of Lego blocks and sledding with unique 5 meter free fall. The Penguins harbor, 160 sq.m, is the home for the live Antarctic dwellers – 17 live penguins bathing in a large swimming pool.

We will also visit Legoland cinema, equipped with the latest high-tech audio and video devices. The construction of the cinema cost Lego company 40 million Danish crowns, and then the Grand Royal Castle, occupying the area of over 2 500 sq.m. More than 1 100 000 Lego blocks were used to create beautiful interiors awakened with light, sound, animation, as well as scents and smoke. The most courageous visitors may saddle up the Dragon, which will take them through the world of medieval adventures. And when the Dragon flies out of the Castle, it unexpectedly accelerates to the speed of 40 km/h!

The excursion to Legoland and Lalandia is currently the brightest in our range in terms of impressions, emotions and the variety of leisure activities. We offer you to visit an experimental ethnographic open air museum, where the life of the 14th century trade city has been reconstructed: daily life, knight tournaments, markets, courts, taverns, and entertainments. Every day you can see the following:
At 11:00 archery tournaments
At 12:00 trabuch stone throwing
At 14:00 knight tournament
At 15:30 cannon fire
At 16:00 tourist-archers performance.

From 30 July till 4 August the centre hosts an international knight mastery tournament, attended by over 80 knights from around Europe.
What we can offer your child in the medieval centre:
1. To put on the knight armour and learn how to handle a wooden sword.

2. Visit a peasant yard and look at wooden animals.

3. Visit the ”Active zone”, and try their hand in different crafts: carpenter, bricklayer, painter etc. In addition, there is a wooden horse which children can climb and try to act as a fighting knight with a shield and a spear.

4. If you are competitive, you may compete in accurate throwing stones. Next to the archers there is an iron shield, producing typical sounds when a stone hits it.

5. Hire a bow and arrows for the children and acquire the skill of throwing arrows into targets. It is not as simple as it seems.

6. Feel the ancient atmosphere by strolling around and looking into the houses to the locals. The settlement was restored to the tiniest nuances existing in the 14 – 15th centuries. That was the way people lived just 600 years ago.
If this is not enough for you, then besides all the aforesaid you can see knight tournaments, models of military machines and ships of the time, the school of magic elixirs and many other things.

Tour length: 6,5 - 7 hours

Tour price: 500 euros for 1-2 adults and a child (under 11) including 5 hours of guide’s services, as well as the transfer by car from Copenhagen to the medieval centre and back to Copenhagen. Entrance tickets, food and drinks are paid extra.

In the line of associations with Denmark, the author of fairy-tales Andersen, is probably, the leader. Pyotr Vail in his film and book "Genius loci" also associated Copenhagen with Andersen. It is said that the total of all his published books translated in nearly all languages of the world can be compared to only Shakespeare and the Bible.

The most famous and widely visited place in the town of Odense is Andersen’s house museum. It includes the collection of writer’s personal items, his manuscripts and letters, illustrations to his fairy-tales and his personal library. It was decided to open the museum to the 100-year anniversary of Andersen’s birthday (he was born 2 April 1805). The house museum has been restored in the tiniest detail. The neighbourhood around the museum has been renovated too: stone pavement has been renewed, low buildings have been restored, some outbuildings have even been brought here from other places. In general, the locals tried their best to create the atmosphere of a town of that time.

Andersen’s house is adjoined to a large modern glass-and-concrete building, where the main exposition is placed. This contemporary building is so harmonious in the urban landscape that one can hardly notice it from the old little street. The museum displays Andersen’s personal items, his books, translated into many languages, paintings, where plots of his fairy-tales and novels were used. The flow of respectful visitors is not decreasing.

After the museum we will go around the town of Odense: a pedestrian street with numerous sculptures from Andersen’s tales с, St. Knud’s (Canute’s) Cathedral, the oldest printing house, the Town hall and other places of interest.

Tour length: 3 hours

Tour price: 250 euros for 2 adults and a child (under 17). The price includes entrance fees to Andersen’s house museum, a tour around the city centre and museum, guide’s services. Food, drinks and transport are paid extra. The return transfer to Odense can be organized from your hotel in Copenhagen (or Billund) by car. In this case the price of the tour rises by 300 euros.

The permanent exposition of the centre includes 300 various exhibitions, based on contemporary achievements in science and technology. Here you will find a lie detector and sound locators, enabling to listen to people’s conversations in the farthest places of the premises; here you can try and experience an earthquake and see your colourful reflection in a special mirror (colours depend on the temperature of different parts of your body), and also create a geyser or a tornado.

Here a child can play and learn about the fascinating world of physics, chemistry and cybernetics, watch spectacular tests and control complex mechanisms. During the tour your child will learn about the vascular system by crawling inside its gigantic model, and will take part in one of 300 experiments performed in Experimentarium. To spend the whole day in Experimentarium is not a problem even for the families with small children. For the kids from 3 to 6 years old there are special play-pavilions.
