Npusha, Moscow, Russia - “Fantastic place, relaxing atmosphere”, travelled with family

"Very interesting design, not usual for the hotel - very relaxing and like at home. Quiet place and very close the central railway station and to the city center. What can be not liked by somebody – breakfast is in the room and not very big, no hot food. But I liked it very much".

Cliff B, Toronto, Canada - “Disappointing”, traveled alone

"I actually found this hotel on TripAdvisor and after reading the reviews I booked it. Boy, was I disappointed. Yes, the breakfast delivered to your door was wonderful (the buns were to die for!!!) and it is close to the railway station…but – the area is quite sketchy, prostitutes wandering the streets which would be fine, but they sometimes harass you, there are what appear to be street gangs on most corners and getting to the hotel appears to be down a dark alley (this because of the metro construction which doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon). The rooms were small, clean, but ‘tired’. I actually changed hotels midway through my trip and I am much happier."

HTTcyclist, Hadlow - “Noisy but good breakfast”, traveled as a couple

"Pleasant enough stay and nicely appointed hotel. However a bit tricky to find as when we visited major works were underway in the surrounding streets with closed roads. Conveniently near, but not too near station. Saturday night saw a noisy party in courtyard behind hotel and had to close windows. Breakfast delivered to your door in the morning though. Good, but not brilliant."

Jenny57218, Tallai, Gold Coast, Australia - “Comfortable with a great breakfast”, traveled as a couple

"This little hotel has an excellent location, close to the Central Railway Station but on a quiet street. The concept of breakfast in the room with fresh bread and pastries delivered every morning is delicious. The rooms are quite wel appointed, not luxurious, but comfortable. Reception is open for quite extended hours and the staff are friendly and helpful."

Weezers615, Altoona, Iowa - “Excellent service”, traveled with family

"We had a very pleasant experience at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodated our every need. The room was small, but larger than expected for a local hotel. We loved the fresh pastries provided for breakfast each morning. There was construction right next to the hotel in the direction of the central train station, but the staff was helpful in providing the quickest routes around it. The hotel is in a great location with plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. Easy walking distance to most of the main attractions along with the bus stop and train station. The front desk also provides currency exchange service if needed."

mandy50_11, Liversedge, United Kingdom - “Really lovely city break”, traveled as a couple

"The Strand Hotel is very nice, located on the canal side away from the busy city centre, but within easy walking distance. It is round the corner from the famous Nyhavn area. The bedroom was a superior double with harbour view - good sized room, lovely bathroom with bath and shower. A bit disappointed with harbour view, as we faced onto an office block and had to look sideways to see a slither of the canal between the two buildings!

Room Tip: If you want a proper harbour view - go beyond superior".

Tim C - “Great room, great price”, traveled as a couple

Only stayed for one night, but it was one of the most comfortable hotel beds ever. Really great staff. Very helpful with all our questions. Great breakfast in the morning. Will absolutely be back again.

Ben A, Helsinki, Finland - “Not worth the prize and assumed superiority!”, traveled alone

"The room itself was smaller than a dinghy, high prices and the hotel staff have an assumed and arrogant air of superiority. Not worth it, not staying again, never recommending it either.

The room missed even curtains / drapes on the windows. I was able to see into others rooms (!) and obviously, they into mine, hence I had to keep the lights off. For some strange reason, I was paying a very high rate, and when I asked them to either put up some drapes, or change the room, they wanted even more money. I refused.

The room also did not have a ironing board, and when I went down to the reception, the guy came out with the dirtiest board EVER! It was then that I really got upset and gave them a clear feedback. Never going back, never staying. I prefer, e.g. other hotels that are in closer vicinity.

Room Tip: Check the rates first! Ridiculously expensive. Best rooms at other hotels. ;)".

JayTee1969 - “Mr Jason Tate”, traveled as a couple

"This hotel is a fantastic base to go out and explore Copenhagen. It is close enough to the Christmas markets, museums and the shopping areas but far enough not to be disturbed by all the crowds. It is situated right by the river so it offers fantastic views but it can get a little chilly (so wrap up warm). The staff are fantastic, very helpful and friendly. You couldn't wish for better staff, a real credit to the hotel. If I had to pick fault ( and it's hard to find any!) the rooms are a little small, but we only slept there and had a shower in the morning and was out for most of the day. So how big do you need the room to be and also just on a personal preference I would have liked to see some cooked items on the breakfast menu ( sausage and bacon), but the breakfast buffet is vast and the Danish pastries are to die for ( I always took a couple extra to eat during the day). All in all, its a great hotel I would definitely stay there again and would recommend any one visiting Copenhagen to stay at the Strand."

Greg_F_10, Holmfirth, United Kingdom - “Superb location”, traveled as a couple

"The hotel overlooks the water, is very close th Nyhavn and the city centre. The room was great for a short stay and the staff friendly. We hired bikes from the hotel and enjoyed a day cycling around the city. Perfect for a short stay and I doubt you will find a better location."
